Job summary

Cypress Restaurant in Port Alberni, BC is seeking dependable full-time Line Cooks to join a fast-paced kitchen team. Great meals start with a skilled crew, and you will help prepare and plate dishes to presentation standards.

Day and evening shifts are available. You will work with a supportive team, maintain a clean workstation, and follow safety procedures to deliver a memorable guest experience.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe certification or equivalent is required.
• Positive attitude and genuine interest in preparing great food.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Able to stay organized during busy service periods.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
• Ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work full-time day or evening/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain a smooth service by accurately presenting dishes.
• Assist with daily specials and menu items.
• Support other kitchen stations with prep as needed.
• Plate dishes with care and consistency.
• Keep workstation clean, organized and stocked.
• Monitor ingredients and restock as needed.
• Follow all food-safety and sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation guidelines, and quality standards.


• Keep service running smoothly by preparing accurate, consistently presented dishes in a timely manner.


• Help bring daily menu items and specials to life.


• Support other kitchen stations with food preparation as needed.


• Plate dishes with care, ensuring each order looks appetizing and meets our standards.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation.


• Monitor ingredients and supplies and communicate restocking needs.


• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.


• Work closely with kitchen and service staff to create an excellent experience for every guest.


• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chef or Management team.
