Job summary

Pioneer Manor, operated by the City of Greater Sudbury, seeks a part-time Laundry Attendant to join the Long Term Care Services. You will provide laundry services for residents and the facility, ensuring proper handling of linens and clothing while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

The role requires up to 48 hours bi-weekly with day/afternoon/weekend shifts. A vulnerable sector check is requested if chosen. Proficiency in English is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Secondary School completion (Grade XII) or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related policies.
• Excellent use of English, both verbal and written.
• French verbal skills are highly desirable; written skills are an asset.
• Provide, at own cost, Criminal Record Check and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, store and prepare all linen and personal clothing for delivery.
• Utilize manual and electrical equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe laundry area and follow health and safety requirements.
• Provide courteous service to residents, staff and visitors.
