Job summary

Manitoulin Centennial Manor (Extendicare) is seeking a part-time Housekeeping/Laundry Aide to maintain cleanliness across the facility. The role includes operating cleaning machines, stocking supplies, and adhering to safety and infection control policies.

The position requires availability for days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. Employees join a compassionate team committed to resident care in a long-term care home, with compensation of $23.22–$25.28 per hour and a total rewards

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to read and write English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English.
• Must work safely following established safety practices and procedures.
• Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting.
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the cleanliness of the facility
• Able to operate different cleaning machines
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies & PPE distributed on the floor (sanitizer, mask, gloves, etc.)
• Participates in proper storage and labeling of housekeeping and laundry supplies
• Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.

• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous housekeeping / laundry aide experience preferred in LTC Home 0-1 year(s).
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to read and write English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting
• Successful candidate must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
• O.S.S.D or equivalent
