Job summary

Lift Community Services is seeking a Food Service Worker to support meal preparation and kitchen operations in a supportive housing setting in Powell River, BC. The role requires attention to safety, hygiene, and collaboration with residents and staff to ensure nutritious meals are available.

This part-time permanent position offers hours Monday to Wednesday (11:30am-7pm) with a wage of CA$27.33–CA$29.24 per hour. Applicants should have Grade 12, related experience, and a relevant certificate.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Six months related experience preferred.
• Certificate in related field.
• Familiarity with harm reduction and Housing First approaches.
• Awareness of street culture and resident needs exiting homelessness.
• Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, email, inventory systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Requires Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check clearance.

• Assist with meal preparation and kitchen safety.
• Attend to hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with staff and residents to provide nutritious meals daily.
