The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all residents' apartments and common areas.

Requirements: Must also be willing to assist with serving breakfast and be available to work every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clean areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods;
2. Clean residents' apartments and common areas, including furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, lights, vents, and windows;
3. Operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment;
4. Strip, scrub, spray, and buff all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces;
5. Pick up garbage and transport to designated areas;
6. Adhere to residence policies and safety rules;
7. Prepare documentation as required;
8. Respect and promote Resident Rights & Responsibilities;
9. Attend in-service training and staff meetings;
10. Participate in the Quality Improvement Program;
11. Work trustfully with vulnerable adults;
12. Uphold organizational values of ethics, morality, and integrity;
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Good English communication skills;
2. Ability to provide daily feedback;
3. Knowledge of standard cleaning techniques;
4. Experience in healthcare or residential cleaning is desirable;
5. Ability to work independently;
6. Physical ability to perform job duties;
7. Proficiency in a second language is an asset;
8. Must provide or be willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.
