WHAT'S THE JOB?

With over 25 years of experience in the remote camp business, Horizon North is a leader in remote camp catering. As a remote Housekeeper, reporting to the Lead Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager, or Lodge Manager, you will ensure the overall cleanliness of our facilities to the highest standards. This is a rotational position working 14 days on/14 days off at a remote camp site.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Conducting walk-downs - cleaning approximately 50 rooms per day, depending on client occupancy.
2. Providing full housekeeping services in guest rooms and hallways.
3. Making beds daily and changing linens weekly or as needed.
4. Vacuuming and dusting all room furniture, blinds, and hallways.
5. Washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing bathrooms, windows, and mirrors.
6. Emptying garbage from all sleeping areas, including trash and recycling collection.
7. Washing and folding towels, linens, and beddings.
8. Loading and unloading laundry and linen trucks, as well as supplies.
9. Maintaining accurate records of bedding inventory in the lodge, assisting with inventory management, and reporting shortages to the Lodge Manager.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Ideally, you have some housekeeping and/or janitorial experience.
• You have knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
• Related experience in a remote lodge setting or hotel/institutional environment; commercial cleaning experience is an asset.
• You are fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You have the ability and desire to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Climb ladders and stairs.
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel, or sit for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.
• Work with arms above shoulder height.
