Job summary

AgeCare SkyPointe in Calgary is seeking a part-time Health Care Aide to join the care team, supporting residents with daily activities under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse. The role emphasizes safe, thorough basic care and treatments within a compassionate environment.

The position requires English fluency and ideally one year of continuing care experience, with PCA/HCA certification or equivalent education, and active CLHA registration.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment is preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP and water temperature controls.
• Assist with transfers using ceiling/mechanical lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed residents during meals and refer to care plans for dietary needs.
• Provide routine treatments under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and activities, including dining and social events.
• Accompany residents to therapy and beauty/parlor services.
