Are you a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic French speaker? Join Oxford Learning North York Willowdale as a part-time French teacher/tutor/coach. Ignite your passion for helping students succeed – en français!

We teach students HOW to learn French and improve their academic and study skills in small groups. Our class sizes are small, with a maximum of three students per teacher. All curriculum and lessons are provided; teachers do not need to lesson plan. Teachers guide students through the material and facilitate discussions about their understanding.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am - 5:00 pm). Reliability is essential. Candidates must have a strong background in spoken and written French and English, comfortable teaching up to Grade 9, with Grade 12 preferred. Instruction is in French. This role is in-person; commuting to the location is required. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth-year university students with tutoring experience considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Knowledge of Grades 9-12 French curriculum

Experience

• Experience teaching/tutoring French at Grades 9-12
• Strong English communication skills
• Proficiency in French to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask with up to three students
