Job summary

FIREFLY is seeking a regular part-time Intake Worker to support coordinated access to children's services across the Kenora and Rainy River districts. This role serves as a critical first point of contact for families and partners, helping ensure timely and compassionate connections to care.

You will lead a family-centred intake process, gather information, and work with families to identify needs, strengths, and service options, reporting to the Clinical Manager.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Human Services or related field.
• Social Services diploma with relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of child and youth development.
• Experience with children, youth and families in community-based services.
• Knowledge of local/regional services is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Answer the centralized intake line and monitor intake email.
• Facilitate referrals through multiple pathways and ensure access to services.
• Provide information to families and community partners about available programs.
• Conduct a family-centred intake process, including consent and screening tools.
• Support families in identifying goals and services that meet their needs.
• Process referrals and prepare documentation for service coordination and follow-up.
• Identify interim supports for families while waiting for services.
• Maintain current knowledge of local and regional services.
• Participate in meetings, training, and small projects as required.
• Perform other duties as required.
