Job summary

CMHA, BC Division is seeking an Intake Coordinator for the Big Worries Strong Spirit program. You will be the first contact for referred parents/caregivers, assess eligibility, and coordinate with Clinician and Coaches.

This role includes biweekly intake updates, assigning families to Coaches, and registering families on the program portal. You will contribute to data collection and program monitoring while fostering a culturally safe, Indigenous-focused team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in child and youth care or related field.
• Workplace training in mental health screening and interviewing.
• Experience with professional case documentation.
• Approximately 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work with Indigenous families and diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Assess referral eligibility in consultation with the staff Clinician.
• Ensure timely service to parents/caregivers and referral agents.
• Execute parent/caregiver coach assigning.
• Connect families to culturally safe resources and service providers as needed.
• Consult with program supervisors when case concerns arise.
• Create regular reports and contribute to intake monitoring.
• Present intake updates and coach assignments during team meetings.
• Maintain accurate and professional records that are culturally safe and trauma-informed.
• Participate in program outreach and team training.
• Apply Diversity Lens and Indigenous guidelines in all assignments.
