Job summary

The Erb Group in Mississauga, ON is seeking a part-time on-call Driver to support our 24/7 refrigerated transportation operations. You will deliver and pick up product, complete required paperwork, and provide professional customer service.

Requirements include a minimum of 1 year verifiable driving experience, valid license, ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey, CVOR and driver abstract, and a criminal record check. PPE is provided.

• Employment reference check will be completed

Shift: Part Time On Call As Needed. Day shift

Compensation: $27.59/hr - switches to milage when North of midland/East of Oshawa

SUMMARY

Drive to locations to deliver and/or pick up product. Fill out all required paperwork. Represent Erb Transport professionally and give the best customer service possible.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible to drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
• Responsible to deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
• Communicate with dispatch according to department procedures regarding pickups, deliveries or inquires.
• Responsible for a required pre/post-trip inspection ensuring equipment is in safe working order.
• Communicate with shop when maintenance is required.
• Familiar with and carry out all required paperwork according to company policy.
• Familiar with and comply to all hours of service and Ministry of Transportation regulations for all jurisdictions.
• Responsible for loading and unloading of product in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
• Familiar with operations of The Erb Group and comply with company regulations.
• Responsible to attend Driver Safety meetings.
• Drivers are not assigned to dedicated units, and slip seating is required.
• Responsible for the operation of the onboard telematic device which includes the electronic log and communication system for communication with dispatch.
• All other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on specific license required.
• Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening.

WORKING CONDITIONS May vary from terminal to terminal, but primarily will be:

• The Erb Group is a 24/7 Operation, with runs departing daily.
• Departure times will vary and will be determined by H.O.S. regulations.
• On call positions, do not have set start times.
• There is no set end time on any given day and work can be up to and including the HOS regulations.
• Drivers can expect from 1 to 20 deliveries and pickups daily.
