Job summary

Town of Oakville is seeking a Part-Time drop-in program monitor in the Recreation and Culture department. You will supervise operations, ensure safety, and deliver excellent customer service to participants and families.

You will arrive on site prepared to run activities, manage attendance and payments, and support daily setup and program staffing. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and positive participant experiences.

Qualifications

• Skate at a high level (no equipment) required.
• Strong communication skills for staff and public.
• Exceptional customer service orientation.
• Independent worker with good initiative.
• Knowledge of Town of Oakville drop-in programs is a plus.
• Basic First Aid with CPR-C & AED required.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on site with program ready to start and end on schedule.
• Ensure safety of all participants throughout the program.
• Maintain accurate attendance and proof of payment.
• Create and enforce a positive, respectful program environment.
• Assist with daily setup and cleanup of the program site.
• Provide exceptional customer service for program questions.
• Apply OHSA safety procedures and Town policies.
• Notify supervisor of issues or recommendations affecting the program.
• Attend and participate in staff training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned
