Job summary

Karis Disability Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist clients with daily living activities and to promote independence within the community. You will work closely with families, advocates and partners to support full citizenship and meaningful relationships.

The role offers flexible schedules, competitive wages, tuition reimbursement, and ongoing career development. A police check and valid Saskatchewan driver's license are required, with travel within the local community

Qualifications

• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• A valid Sask. Full Class 5 or Sask. Novice 2 driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with families, advocates and community partners to promote citizenship.
• Support people to develop relationships and independence.
• Document care and report changes to supervisors as required.

Requirements

• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• A valid Sask. Full Class 5 or Sask. Novice 2 driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Preferred

• 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
• Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field

Working Conditions

• This location supports service users who smoke and/or vape
• May involve driving/travel within the local community with people supported as passengers
