Job summary

Karis Disability Services in Saskatchewan is hiring an Employment Support Professional to provide services in vocational settings, assist with daily living activities, and collaborate with families, advocates, friends, and community partners to promote full citizenship and strong relationships.

You will work closely with a team, handle administrative duties, and participate in flexible schedules across various locations.

Qualifications

• Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 or Novice 2 driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living in workplace and community settings.
• Collaborate with families, advocates, friends, and community partners to promote full citizenship.
• Supervise participants at tasks aligned with their skills and interests; ensure safety and proper body mechanics when using equipment.
• Complete administrative duties as assigned.

Job description

The Employment Support Professional provides services to people in a vocational setting. They assist with activities in a workplace environment and provides employment supports to people working at their jobs and in their community. The Employment Support Professional ensures that people who experience disabilities belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected. They work in cooperation with their team and completes administrative duties as assigned.

Employment Support Professional employees build communities that value the contributions of people who experience developmental disabilities. They assist with activities of daily living, working collaboratively with families, advocates, friends, and community partners in order to promote full citizenship and enhance relationships. Requirements

• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• A valid Sask. Full Class 5 or a Sask. Novice 2 drivers license and access to reliable transportation
• Satisfactory Driver's Abstract

Preferred

• 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
• Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field

• Supervision of participants while they work on their preferred tasks based on their skills and interests
• Ensuring when persons supported are using equipment, they are being safe as well as having safe body mechanics
• Ability to multi-task
• Operating saws and other power tools considered an asset
• Wood working and carpentry experience considered an asset
• Mechanically inclined considered an asset
