Job summary

Vic West Dentistry in Victoria, BC, is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join a patient-centered team. The wage ranges from $31 to $36 per hour and the position supports weekdays only.

You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists and hygienists, take dental X-rays, and maintain IPAC standards while updating patient charts and supporting scheduling. Applicants must be registered/certified and legally eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X‑rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high‑quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.
