Job summary

Vic West Dentistry in Victoria, BC is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join a patient‑centred practice focused on modern care. You will prepare rooms, assist during treatments, take dental X-rays, and maintain strict infection control following IPAC standards.

The role requires registration or certification with the provincial body and previous experience is preferred. You will contribute to patient education, scheduling support, and collaborative team care.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high‑quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $31-$36/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.
