Job summary

BEST - For a Cleaner World in Sudbury, Ontario is seeking a Custodian for part-time shifts, performing routine cleaning, floor care, and related duties to keep facilities safe and sanitary.

You will operate cleaning equipment, handle heavy garbage, and support site management. The role requires ability to pass a background check and physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. Competitive hourly pay above provincial minimum wage is offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass Canadian Background Check.
• Prior custodial experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
• WHMIS knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, auditoriums, classrooms, workshops, labs, washrooms, kitchens, dining areas, corridors, entrances, and elevators.
• Perform floor care including stripping, waxing, burnishing, and buffing.
• Perform carpet extraction and vacuuming.
• Ensure proper sanitization and disinfection procedures are followed.
• Replenish supplies as required.
• Dispose of garbage in proper bins and manage waste.
• Clean spills and maintain organized storage areas and equipment.
• Report equipment issues, repair needs, and stock shortages.
• Perform minor maintenance repairs and complete other duties as assigned.
