Job summary

Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services in St. Thomas, Ontario seeks an Addiction and Mental Health Worker for Withdrawal Management.

This part-time, contract role supports individuals in community-based withdrawal services, coordinating with providers and advancing harm-reduction health and social supports. Roles include developing service links, staying current on substance use trends, and assisting with program development.

Qualifications

• Completed post-secondary education in a related field (BSW or post-graduate diploma in addiction or equivalent)
• Current, satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
• Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centred care from a harm reduction approach.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of service providers.
• Acquire and maintain current knowledge about substance use disorders and treatment options.
• Facilitate service navigation for clients through empowerment and advocacy.
• Provide education, referrals and support for people using substances and related needs.
• Assist with indirect services and administrative duties.
• Engage in community development, awareness, and outreach as appropriate.

Education
