Job summary

SOAR Community Services in Brantford is seeking a Part-Time Employment Consultant to support job seekers and employers. You will develop employment opportunities, assess needs, create service plans, provide instruction and advocacy, and collaborate with local providers and employers to arrange placements.

The role requires a College Diploma in Human/Social Services or Business, with a Career Practitioner/Job Development certificate an asset, plus at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

College diploma in Human/Social Services or Business; certificate is an asset.
Minimum 1 year of related field experience.
Proficient in MS Office; familiar with databases.

Responsibilities

Develop employment opportunities for clients
Provide employment and training needs assessment and case management
Develop Service Plans
Provide instruction, individual support and advocacy
Facilitate workshops
Complete reporting requirements
Collaborate with local training providers
Work with local employers to provide placements
Monitor client’s employment retention for 365 days
