Job summary

Algonquin Students' Association is seeking a Brand Ambassador to connect with students on campus and through social media, promoting events and services.

You will represent the SA with enthusiasm, support on-campus promotions, and help create engaging content while working with the Marketing team to enhance the student experience at Algonquin College.

Qualifications

  • Current full-time Algonquin College student.
  • Experience in events and working in a team environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while interacting with students/patrons.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Build a brand presence on campus and foster dialogue with students.
  • Execute marketing, promotions, and brand interactions to increase awareness of SA facilities and services.
  • Represent the SA professionally across campus and at events.
  • Promote SA facilities, programming and services through in-person engagements and social media.
  • Interact with students to raise awareness and encourage participation in SA programming.

Brand Ambassador

Reports To: Manager, Marketing

Mission: To create an environment that inspires a passion for student success.

Nature and Scope:

The Brand Ambassador will support the execution of a comprehensive annual program of promotions designed to highlight the SA’s events, facilities, and services. As one of the SA’s Brand Ambassadors, you will represent
our organization, products, and services to build brand awareness and strengthen student engagement. This will include connecting with students through in-person interactions, on-campus events, and social media.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Brand Ambassador is responsible for creating positive, memorable experiences while assisting in the implementation of promotional campaigns tailored to Algonquin College students.

Job Duties:
  • Build a brand presence on campus and foster dialogue with students.
  • Execute marketing, promotions, and brand interactions to increase SA facility and service awareness.
  • Represent the SA in a positive and professional manner across campus and at events.
  • Promote the SA’s facilities, programming and services through in-person engagements and social media.
  • Interact with students to build awareness and encourage participation in SA’s programming, events and services.
  • Provide feedback and insights on student interests and on-campus trends to the Marketing team.
  • Work with team members to enhance the overall experience of students at Algonquin College.
  • Assist with “out-of-the-box” marketing strategies on campus or via social media.
  • Assist with creating and editing content for SA social channels (must be comfortable speaking on camera).
  • Act as the face of the SA brand across social media channels.
  • Distribute print material and promotional items across the Ottawa campus.
  • Produce activity recaps of marketing efforts and assist with market research.
  • Maintain ongoing internal documentation and reports.
  • Analyze and apply improvements to the execution of promotions.
  • Occasionally perform as the Algonquin Wolves Mascot at community appearances and Algonquin Wolves athletic and social events.
  • General duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members.
  • Comfortable being on camera for the purpose of social media content
  • Creative with an “out-of-the-box” mindset
Qualifications:
  • Current full-time Algonquin College student
  • Experience in events and working in a team environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while interacting with students and/or patrons.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of social media, primarily Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Knowledge of SA’s services, facilities and events is an asset
