Reporting to: Supervisor of Aquatics and Recreation Programs

Department: Aquatics

Salary Range: $17.19 - $17.72 as per Schedule "A"

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities

• Assists in the instruction of Lifesaving Society Swim programs (Preschool, Parent and tot, Youth and Adult).
• Assists the Instructor as directed, performing duties such as:
• Delivery of swim lessons,
• Evaluating candidates,
• Addressing questions/concerns from parents.
• Maintains current qualifications (within two years of certification date).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Helps with the setup of the deck and pool prior to instruction periods and cleans up afterward.

Qualifications

• Lifesaving Assistant Water Safety Instructor Certificate,
• Bronze Cross Certificate or National Lifeguard,
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C,
• Excellent physical condition,
• Ability to pleasantly deal with the public.

Hours of work not to exceed forty-eight (48) hours in a two-week period in accordance with the C.U.P.E., Local 1146 - Inside/Part-time Unit collective agreement.
