Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Winnipeg is seeking an Activities Coordinator for a part-time role (52 hours biweekly) to assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents in collaboration with the General Manager.

You will create monthly newsletters, maintain relationships with residents, families and staff, transport residents as needed, attend team meetings and uphold the organization’s ethics and resident rights.

Qualifications

• Experience with seniors is an asset.
• Energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
• Ability to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
• Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for residents in collaboration with the General Manager.
• Create monthly newsletters to be distributed to all residents.
• Maintain effective communication with residents, families and staff in other departments.
• Attend in-service education and team meetings to plan programs with residents' interests in mind.
• Transport residents in the facility vehicle to scheduled locations, outings and events.
• Uphold and promote the organization's values and ethics.
