Zusammenfassung

Cogir Senior Living is seeking an Active Living Aide to support planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents in our Calgary community. You will collaborate with the Active Living Manager and Executive Director to foster engaging activities and quality daily life for seniors.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, communicating with residents and families, and participating in ongoing staff training.

Qualifikationen

• College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent.
• Experience working with seniors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Energetic and compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
• Valid provincial driver’s license to transport residents by van (Class 4/ F).
• Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (or be willing to obtain one).

Aufgaben

• Assist in planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for residents, in collaboration with the Active Living Manager & Executive Director.
• Maintain department records including assessments, evaluations of programs and individual participation.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, volunteers and staff; inform about events.
• Attend in-service education to stay current with elder care trends.
• Participate in team meetings to plan resident-centered activities.
• Facilitate residents' scheduled outings and activities.
• Assess individual resident activity levels and plan daily activities.
• Carry out and evaluate daily activities.
• Assist with meal services as required.
• Work with vulnerable adults in a trusted role; uphold ethics and integrity; perform other duties as assigned.
