The City of Greater Sudbury is seeking Seasonal Part Time Parks/Grounds staff to maintain turf and grounds across Parks Services sites. You will operate a riding mower and tractors, following safety protocols and manufacturer instructions, while adhering to health and attendance standards.

Basic education (Grade XII) and six months of related experience are required; a valid driver’s license and good English skills are essential for daily operations and reporting.

Qualifikationen

• Secondary School completion (Grade XII).
• Six months of directly related experience.
• Operate Riding Mower with 10 ft deck or greater, or similar equipment.
• Operate farm tractor/municipal tractor with attachments.
• Must have some mechanical knowledge to avoid damage.
• Read and follow manufacturer’s routine maintenance instructions.
• Excellent use of English, verbally and in writing.
• Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Rate of Pay: $31.20 per hour

Main Function: Operate Turf and Landscape equipment in the maintenance of turf and grounds within Parks Services sites.

Characteristic: Under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Horticulture.

1. Operate Riding Mower with 10 foot deck or greater, or similar type of equipment in the maintenance of turf and grounds within the Parks Services sites.
2. Operate farm tractor/municipal tractor with attachments in the maintenance of turf and grounds within the Parks Services sites.
3. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
4. Perform other related duties as required.

• Ability to read and follow manufacturer’s routine maintenance instructions.
• Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
• Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
• Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s license, and have an acceptable driving record.
