Paralegal - Personal Injury

Job description

Our client, a prominent multi-service law firm based in Mississauga and serving the Greater Toronto Area, is in growth mode and actively seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their expanding team.

Your new role

In this role, you will take charge of managing Accident Benefits and Tort files from inception to closure independently. Your responsibilities will include drafting legal documents such as affidavits of documents, undertakings, and motion records. Working directly under the supervision and guidance of one of the firm's lawyers, you will assist with preparing Motion Records, Pre-Trial Memorandums, Case Conference Summaries, and Mediation Memorandums. Additionally, you will complete OCF forms in compliance with the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) requirements, identify files ready for settlement discussions or preparation for settlement conferences, and communicate with adjusters and opposing counsel to coordinate events and ensure the timely production of necessary documents.

What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 4 years of Personal Injury experience with an emphasis on AB & Tort. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will be necessary to draft correspondence and legal documents, schedule meetings, and communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other professionals. You must be knowledgeable with preparing LAT Applications and Case Conference Summaries. A Paralegal Diploma from a recognized institution and an Active Paralegal License in good standing are required.
