Job summary

The Department of Justice, Government of Yukon, invites applications for a paralegal position in the Legal Services Branch. The successful candidate will support lawyers in the Independent Prosecutions Unit and, later, the Litigation Unit, preparing files and court documents and providing legal technical support.

You will create and manage systems for organizing legal documents and work independently in a fast-paced environment to help deliver timely, accurate proceedings.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary certification/course work as a paralegal or legal assistant.
• Experience providing legal or paralegal support.
• Experience in the development and implementation of record keeping systems.
• Experience in civil litigation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare files and court documents.
• Provide legal technical support and guidance to lawyers.
• Create and manage systems for organizing legal documents.
