Job summary

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood, UK, invites a placement student to join the Painted Body – Finish, Repair and Coachline team for a placement year starting July 2027. You will work hands-on on surface finishing, automation with robots, and quality inspection, gaining practical insights into Rolls-Royce manufacturing.

You will tackle industrial engineering projects, assist with tooling, and present topics to senior managers.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and time management abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work on industrial engineering projects (new equipment/tooling trials).
• Support leadership and cross-functional paint shop projects.
• Attend daily shop floor calendars and participate in problem solving reviews.
• Assist with procurement and supplier communications (SAP).
• Participate in extra-curricular activities and group meetings with Rolls-Royce teams.
