Axalta is seeking a Paint Technician, Automotive for a fully remote role. Local presence in the Toronto area is required for onsite visits to customer sites. The role focuses on supporting a high-volume commercial vehicle customer and ensuring SOPs are completed with regular data collection.

We seek a candidate with 5+ years in paint application or manufacturing, automotive coatings knowledge, and strong communication skills. Up to 60% travel may be required.

This role will be remote working at current and prospect customers. Primary responsibility is to insure Standard Operating Procedures are completed for each customer, Auditing application at each locating and troubleshooting if issues arise.**Work Location:** This fully remote role requires a local presence in the **Toronto, CAN** surrounding area to allow for onsite visits at customer sites and is not eligible for relocation nor sponsorship. This role is eligible for benefits such as health insurance, company vehicle and paid time off. The expected compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $95,000 CAD annually. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.**Key Responsibilities:*** Support relationships with management teams, procurement teams, and paint technicians at customer sites.* Maintain key communication with sales and management.* Provide technical direction and assistance to customers on the use of product lines.* Possess working knowledge of paint technologies.* Respond to questions and concerns regarding product lines and general operations.* Troubleshoot & resolve painting issues and problems by providing recommendations on issues related to product, application, inventory and general paint process.* Assist customers to overcome line problems. Gather data and material samples for analysis, testing and reporting.* Assist with daily paint consumption, invoices, inventory, and paint ordering.* Communicate data collection including (but not limited to): Viscosity and Temperature data, appearance data using Wave Scan and film build collection devices. Collect and understand how to analysis the data.* Regularly report data collection results summary internally and to the customer if required. Notify appropriate parties if data reveals results outside of expectations.* Support monthly plant quality reports for customers. Make recommendations regarding specification ranges (i.e. viscosity) and quality ranges (i.e. appearance limits, color tolerances).* Assist with customer demand forecast, on-site inventory and product orders.* Support customer projects (LWRs) and test requests. Follow up with chemist for all details. Review and understand results. If requested, report out results with customer.* Build relationships at all levels, help team deliver value.**Qualifications:*** High School diploma/GED required. Additional education/college degree in Engineering/Technical field preferred.* Minimum of 5 years paint application and/or manufacturing experience is mandatory.* Automotive coatings industry alignment a plus.* Additional experience with automotive painting equipment is highly preferred.* The ideal candidate must have an understanding of technical (lab, research, etc.) principles and practices, as well as a general understanding of chemical handling and PSM (Process Safety Management.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.* The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while handling multiple projects at any given time.* Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.* Travel required: up to 60% (development/growth training, training of other employees and coverage at other locations).This is an active opening for which we are recruiting to fill immediately.
