Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Packer, second shift at our Toronto manufacturing plant. The primary job function is to perform general labor duties within the laminated mattress Department.

Your additional responsibilities include building/assembling mattresses from foam components on the line and contributing to meeting production goals while maintaining operations excellence. No experience is necessary; a GED is acceptable.

Qualifications

• No experience required for this role.
• Ability to interpret numbers and measurements.
• Able to lift 20–40 lbs comfortably.
• Familiarity with PPE usage.
• Adaptable to changing tasks and schedules.
• Effective communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision.
• GED or high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mattresses from foam components on the line.
• Apply glue to foam consistently.
• Collect foam from kitting area per customer orders.
• Perform QC checks using visual inspection and tape measure.
• Apply labels to finished orders and prep for shipping.
• General housekeeping of the department.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to build/assemble various size mattresses from foam components or pieces on the line.

Your additional responsibilities as a Packer will include:
