Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm shift at our Calgary manufacturing plant.

The role focuses on safe operation of equipment used in manufacturing components and finished products for internal and external customers as defined by the daily production schedule. Responsibilities include inspections, equipment operation, SAP record-keeping, quality checks, labeling, and basic preventative maintenance, all while supporting Kaizen continuous

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Prior manufacturing experience is an asset.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-use inspection of the assigned production equipment.
• Follow work instructions and production schedule.
• Operate assigned equipment safely.
• Maintain relevant records in the SAP system.
• Conduct quality checks to meet customer specifications.
• Print stock shipping labels or enter production figures into SAP.
• Ensure all finished products are labeled correctly.
• Operate heat bond iron to seal packaging material.
• Perform basic maintenance of equipment as required.
• Housekeeping of equipment and surrounding area.
• Support routine maintenance on machinery.
• Ensure the work area is clean and orderly by disposing of waste.
• Practice Kaizen principles of continuous improvement.

Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment or machine used in manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

The Additional Responsibilities As Machine Operator Will Include:

• Conduct pre use inspection of the assigned production equipment
• Follow work instruction and production schedule
• Operate assigned equipment safely
• Maintain relevant records in the SAP system
• Conducts quality checks as required to meet customer's specification
• Print stock shipping labels or enter production figures into SAP
• Ensure all finished products are labelled correctly
• Operate heat bond iron to seal packaging material
• Perform basic maintenance of the equipment as required
• Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
• Help perform routine simple maintenance on machinery
• Ensure work area is clean and orderly by disposing of departmental waste.
• Practice Kaizen principles of continuous improvement

Skills And Requirements
