Job summary

Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator - 1st shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant. The role involves safe operation of equipment and adherence to the daily production schedule.

Responsibilities include recording data in SAP, performing quality checks, labeling finished products, and basic equipment maintenance. Kaizen principles guide continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned production equipment safely and per work instructions.
• Follow daily production schedule and batch records.
• Maintain SAP records and print stock labels.
• Perform quality checks to meet specifications.
• Read a tape measure and interpret measurements.
• Conduct basic maintenance and keep area clean.
• Support Kaizen continuous improvement efforts.

Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for aMachine Operator - 1st shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm)at our Calgary manufacturing plant.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment or machine used in manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

The additional responsibilities asMachine Operatorwill include:

• Conduct pre use inspection of the assigned production equipment
• Follow work instruction and production schedule
• Operate assigned equipment safely
• Maintain relevant records in the SAP system
• Conducts quality checks as required to meet customer's specification
• Print stock shipping labels or enter production figures into SAP
• Ensure all finished products are labelled correctly
• Operate heat bond iron to seal packaging material
• Perform basic maintenance of the equipment as required
• Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
• Help perform routine simple maintenance on machinery
• Ensure work area is clean and orderly by disposing of departmental waste.
• Practice Kaizen principles of continuous improvement
