Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant. The role ensures safe operation of equipment, adherence to the daily production schedule, and quality checks for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, recording data in SAP, labeling finished products, and performing routine basic maintenance. Prior manufacturing experience is a plus and physical lifting is required.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing working environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-use inspection of the assigned production equipment.
• Follow work instruction and production schedule.
• Operate assigned equipment safely.
• Maintain relevant records in the SAP system.
• Conducts quality checks as required to meet customer's specification.
• Print stock shipping labels or enter production figures into SAP.
• Ensure all finished products are labelled correctly.
• Operate heat bond iron to seal packaging material.
• Perform basic maintenance of the equipment as required.
• Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
• Help perform routine simple maintenance on machinery.
• Ensure work area is clean and orderly by disposing of departmental waste.
• Practice Kaizen principles of continuous improvement.

Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator - 1st shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment or machine used in manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

The Additional Responsibilities As Machine Operator Will Include:
