Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Toronto is seeking a Packer on first shift to perform general labor in the laminated mattress department. You will build mattresses from foam components on the production line and help meet production goals while maintaining safety and clean operations.

No experience is required, though some experience is a plus. You should be comfortable lifting 20–40 lbs, interpreting numbers and measurements, and following PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• No experience necessary however, some would be an asset.
• Able to interpret and work with numbers and measurements.
• Able to lift between 20 - 40 lbs. comfortably.
• General understanding of PPE and use.
• Adaptable and flexible for any change of daily tasks.
• Communicates effectively with employee inquiries or comments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills considered an asset.
• Ability to work under minimal to no supervision
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Responsibilities

• Apply glue to foam on a consistent basis while working with foam.
• Collect foam from kitting area based on customer orders.
• Perform QC checks using visual assessments and tape measure.
• Applies labels to finished orders and preps for shipping.
• General housekeeping of department.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
