Job summary

Romet Limited is seeking a Packaging and Shipping Operator for a 2-month contract at our Mississauga facility. The role involves labeling, packing, and shipping products with attention to accuracy and safety.

You will operate forklifts (if certified) and support various production teams to ensure timely shipments. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and prior manufacturing experience; Lean Manufacturing training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior related experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean Manufacturing training and experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Label packages with shipping and handling information, including addresses, barcodes, and fragile-item warnings, etc.
• Ensure adequate stock of packaging materials and reorder supplies as needed
• Maintain an organized packaging and shipping area to ensure efficient operations
• Properly wrap, box, and seal products to prevent damage during transportation
• Operate forklift (only if certified) or pump truck to load and unload all products entering or leaving the company, as necessary
• Monitor and update inventory records for shipped items
• Cross-functional and cross-department training/support when required
• Participate and maintain proper housekeeping 5S standards
