Job summary

Total Pac & Design Inc. in Markham, Ontario is seeking an Experienced Project Co-ordinator to support supply chain engagements and packaging coordination within a vendor managed inventory (VMI) framework.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in supply chain or related field.
  • 4-5 years of relevant industry experience in production planning, supply chain and/or logistics.
  • Willingness to travel within North America and internationally.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence tools and systems is preferred.
  • Experience with ISO, HACCP, or similar quality programs is preferred.
  • Pre-sales, proposal and RFP experience is a plus.

Job description

To effectively compete in the global market and maximize profitability, businesses need efficient supply chains that meet the complex needs of their operations. We are seeking an Experienced Project Co-ordinator.

As a supply chain professional, you'll work with the business to provide support on key engagements where coordination of packaging is required in a vendor managed inventory (VMI) framework.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to Supply Chain, Operations, client engagements and internal projects.
  • Actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships with both vendors and customers.
  • Need to be able to anticipate and identify risks within engagements and raise any issues with senior members of the team.
  • In line with the company's commitment to quality, you'll confirm that work is of high quality and is reviewed by the next-level reviewer.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage day-to-day project operations throughout initiation, execution, coordination, controlling, and closure stages with both local and international stakeholders.
  • Maintain official project records, correspondence logs, and detailed cross-border documentation.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with diverse cross-functional teams, align deliverables with strategic roadmaps, and prepare meeting minutes, work plans, and internal memos.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and support long-term strategic planning, including providing creative input for product development initiatives.
  • Conduct research and product development experiments independently.
  • Manage all phases of assigned projects and provide direct reporting to senior management.
  • Coordinate cross-border logistics, customs compliance, and freight operations, including documentation such as Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin (COO), Import/Export Codes (IECs), and shipping instructions.
  • Manage international vendor relationships and procurement strategies, collaborate with service providers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
  • Handle international customer accounts and inquiries; design region-specific marketing campaigns and digital content; identify global business opportunities; develop proposals; negotiate contracts; and prepare market research reports, investment guides, and country briefs.
  • Manage travel arrangements and host client, vendor, and brand ambassador visits; handle visa coordination; ensure compliance with immigration requirements; and maintain communication before, during, and after international field visits (Canada, USA, China, Hong Kong, India).
  • Participate in manufacturing and operational excellence engagements for our key clients where a VMI framework is in place
  • Manage tracking of all inbound sea and air freight shipments to ensure timely delivery to clients/warehouses
  • Coach and guide the delivery teams by providing experienced insights and knowledge on manufacturing and operations best practices, and providing expertise in considering intricacies of operations with Supply Chain processes such as procurement, planning and scheduling, and end-to-end logistics
  • Support marketing and sales as needed by our sales team such as making presentations, taking photographs of samples, arranging sample couriers etc
  • Respond to customer enquiries for quality documentation including questionnaires, CofA’s, TDS sheets, etc.
  • Lead business development initiatives to grow the supply chain, operations and manufacturing team
  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures

  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving and decision-making through data insights abilities

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Degree/diploma in Supply Chain or related field
  • 4-5 years of relevant industry experience in production planning, supply chain and/or logistics
  • Must have a valid passport and available to travel within North America and International
  • Knowledge and relevant experience working with operational excellence tools and systems (eg. TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, etc.) is preferred
  • Familiarity with quality management programs such as ISO, HACCP, BRC, etc. is preferred
  • Pre-sales, proposal, and RFP experience
  • You'll have knowledge and experience of a number of the following areas:

Supply chain and operational excellence; Inventory and warehouse management ; Global trade and manufacturing footprint optimization; Operational performance improvement and core business review ;

  • Outbound and inbound logistics
  • A range of experience across the following: supplier collaboration, product lifecycle management, procurement, operations, fulfillment, and after sales service
  • Experience in printing and packaging is a bonus.
