Job summary

Labatt Breweries of Canada in London, Ontario is seeking a brewery associate to support brewing operations. You will follow SOPs, adhere to safety policies, and perform quality checks across the brewing process.

The role requires lifting, standing, and working in environment with temperature variations, with available overtime under labour laws and a collective agreement. On-site benefits include beer benefits and on-site parking.

Qualifications

  • Availability for shift work essential (days, afternoons and midnights), overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, pushing, pulling and stair climbing.
  • Ability to work in warm, hot, cold, damp environments with PPE.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and understand SOPs and execute work assignments in the department.
  • Work safely and follow EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Complete quality checks accurately and on time.
  • Participate in troubleshooting activities as needed.
  • Adhere to London Brewery Rules and HACCP standards.
  • Communicate proactively with colleagues and managers about issues affecting business and safety.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in all job functions.
  • Assist co-workers to resolve production issues and ask for help when necessary.
  • Handle materials: transfer, milling, weighing of grain and other ingredients, beer transfers.
  • Perform tasks in Re-work staging area.
  • Participate in SDCA and VPO initiatives to improve department performance.
  • Perform process quality control checks; conduct sanitation of brewing equipment and vessels.
  • Record keeping and organization; quality sampling and record keeping related to brewing.

  • Evening Premium: $0.60
  • Night Premium: $1.00

SHIFT:

rotational Day:7am-3pm, Evening: 3pm-11pm, Nights: 11pm-7am

Overtime Eligibility:

This position is eligible for overtime payin accordance withapplicablelabourlaws and pursuantwithcollective agreement. Overtime is paid at the legally required rate and may vary based on hours worked beyond the standard schedule.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and execute work assignments made in Department.
  • Able to work in a safe manner and follow all EH&S safety policies / procedures.
  • Responsible for completing all required quality checks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in troubleshooting activities as needed
  • Responsible for abiding by London Brewery Rules, Departmental policies and HACCP standards.
  • Responsible for proactively communicating with colleagues and managers on issues affecting the business and safety.
  • Expected to strive for continuous improvement in all job functions and within the department.
  • Expected to proactively assist co-workers to resolve production issues, and to ask for help when necessary.
  • Material handling: transfer/ milling/ weighing of grain and other ingredients, beer transfers, beer process materials
  • Perform tasks in Re-work staging area
  • Participate in VPO initiatives such as SDCA, and work towards improving Department performance through individual ownership.
  • Perform process quality controlchecks;
  • Execute industrial cleaning andsanitation ie Brewing equipment and vessels
  • Record keeping and organization
  • Quality sampling, testing and record keeping related to the brewing process as required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Availability for shift work essential (days, afternoons and midnights), overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to meet all physical demands of the job which includes, for example, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, frequent stair climbing, and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in warm, hot, cold, damp environments with required personal protective equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors, both in a team and individually.
  • Exposure to noise and vibrations.
  • Ability to wear all PPE as required: including safety shoes, glasses, bump cap (plastic insert), hearing protection (jewelry must be taken off)
  • Excellent plant discipline & Attendance record.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use computer-based Labatt systems
