Job summary

Labatt Breweries of Canada is seeking a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to join its Vancouver production team. You will perform corrective and preventative maintenance on brewery equipment, troubleshoot gearboxes, pumps and packaging lines, and ensure safety and food-production quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a Red Seal certificate, 3+ years in a production facility, and is willing to rotate shifts (days, afternoons, nights) with overtime and holiday work.

Qualifications

  • Valid Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certificate.
  • Willing and able to work shift work (days afternoons and nights), optional overtime and holidays.
  • Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills; 3+ years in industrial mechanic/millwright or machinist trade.
  • Experience in a production facility preferred.
  • Welding and/or machining experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of learning computer-based maintenance software (e.g. SAP, CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment including gearboxes, pumps, and packaging equipment (brewhouse equipment, bottle/can lines).
  • Follow plant safety, housekeeping, and food-production quality standards.

The overtime shall be paid at a rate of time and a half for the first 2 hours after a regularly scheduled shift and all subsequent hours will be paid at double time. Specific equipment includes bottle and can filler, bottle labeler, palletizers and depalletizers, bottle and can packers, brewhouse equipment and beer centrifuge.Follow plant safety, housekeeping, and food-production quality standards.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Valid Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate.Willing and able to work shift work (days afternoons and nights, optional overtime, and optional holidays).Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills; prefer 3 or more years of experience in the industrial mechanic/millwright or machinist trade.
