Job summary

J.S. Held’s GHL Consultants unit in Western Canada is seeking a seasoned Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) to deliver building code and fire/life safety consulting. You will manage projects, liaise with clients, review designs, and mentor junior staff in a hybrid work setting that evolves toward more in-office collaboration as the team grows.

The role emphasizes Part 3/Part 9 code expertise, strong communication, and a track record of successful project delivery across diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree in a related field.
• P.Eng. designation with Alberta registration or eligibility.
• Familiarity with Alberta Building Code Part 3/Part 9 and local AHJs.
• Experience delivering code compliance analyses and reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide building code, fire and life safety consulting for diverse projects.
• Develop code strategies and prepare reports and alternative solutions.
• Lead multi-project delivery with client coordination and milestones.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development efforts.
