Overview
We're looking for an experienced scheduler for a new role. You own the integrated schedule for a portfolio of 30 to 40 capital projects in execution. You pull contractor schedules into one view, check them for quality, and challenge what doesn’t hold up. You work with project managers, contractors, and site leaders. You do well here when your schedule is accurate, current, and trusted.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Owner Integrated Schedule in Primavera P6 for a portfolio of projects. Most are small. Some are large and complex.
- Lead the month-end process for two weeks of every month. Work with project managers on forecast schedules far into the future.
- Issue a monthly portfolio schedule package with milestone status, three-month project gate and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) outlooks, and a one-year resource outlook.
- Work with engineering and construction contractors each week to load their schedule updates. Reconcile schedules from Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
- Review contractor updates for quality, logic, progress, and forecast dates. Reject weak updates and request corrections.
- Challenge unsupported assumptions. Escalate significant schedule risks.
- Lead the bi-weekly schedule update meetings. Review all project updates in one session, not one meeting per project.
- Walk the field to compare reported progress with what you see.
- Keep schedule coding, calendars, resource loading, and version control to corporate standards. Add approved scope changes.
- Complete a quarterly schedule health review.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, project controls, or a related field.
- 10+ years of planning and scheduling experience, with expert Primavera P6 skills in a capital project environment.
- Experience taking a scope of work and building a high-level plan and schedule from it.
- Experience working with construction contractors and combining their schedules across many projects.
- Independent judgment. You solve problems without constant direction and influence people you don’t manage.
- Advanced Microsoft Project and Excel skills.
- Able to work onsite in Nanticoke or Sarnia, Ontario. Relocation is not available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oil and gas experience.
- Utilities experience is also welcome.
- Experience with Acumen Fuse.
