Job summary

Autism Services is seeking a dedicated overnight staff member to support residents in a secure facility. Responsibilities include monitoring curfew adherence, documenting changes in routine, behaviour and sobriety, and serving as a positive role model for residents.

Ideal candidates will hold a human services degree or be a current student, possess CPR/First Aid, and be able to pass federal security clearance. Shift is 0000–0800, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Degree in human services or current student in a related program.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain prior to training.
• Mature, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Job description

$20.00 to $21.00 depending on experience.

Our halfway house support staff are responsible to aid and monitor residents along with ensuring the security of the building. Our residents are federal offenders on conditional release.

Residents are monitored for curfew adherence, special conditions, and appropriate behaviors. Client interactions will also include problem solving and being a positive role model. Proper documentation of changes in personal routine, behaviours and sobriety concerns. Handwriting must be legible and documentation factual/ observation based.

Ideal candidate must be mature and able to work unsupervised or with little supervision. Skills in problem solving and conflict management are a must. Applicants must express confidence, dedication, and contributing in a positive manner over the long term. Applicants will need to be organized and MUST able to multitask and prioritize. Dependability, reliability, professional boundaries and solid work ethic are important.

Must have both a birth certificate, valid photo ID, and be able to pass federal security clearance which is done through the CRF. Cost will be reimbursed for the successful candidate upon the completion of training.

Must possess valid CPR/First Aid or secure prior to training.

Applicants should have completed a degree in human services (sociology, psychology, social work, criminology, justice, addictions, etc.) or be a current student in a related program. Applicants should be punctual and reliable.

This is a full time position with OVERNIGHT hours 0000 to 0800, Monday to Friday.
