Job summary

Victoria Cool Aid Society in Victoria, BC, seeks a Mental Health Worker to provide housing and shelter services, including client-centered planning and support for those vulnerably housed or experiencing homelessness.

Shift: 10:00 pm–08:00 am, 35.625 hours weekly, Rock Bay Landing. This full‑time role includes a comprehensive benefits package, a BCGEU union, and an overnight premium. Requires Emergency First Aid CPR‑C and a Criminal Record Check, plus at least two years’ related experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a related Social or Human Services field.
• At least two years of experience in a related environment.
• Knowledge of community support agencies and resources preferred.
• Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C.
• Successful Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing and shelter services including case planning and referrals.
• Assist with daily physical and emotional supports; respond to overdoses.
• Administer first aid and Naloxone as needed; orient and register clients.
• Advocate for clients and connect them to external resources.
