Job summary

Main Street Project in Winnipeg, MB, seeks an Overnight Coordinator to support MSP Programs during overnight shifts. Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, you will help staff across program areas, enforce policies, and participate in training and development to uphold harm reduction and housing‑first principles.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience in human services, preferably with homelessness/mental health/chemical dependency.
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a management or administrative role is an asset.
  • Proficient computer literacy.
  • Ability to communicate with staff from varied backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Client-centered care philosophy.
  • Crisis assessment ability and calmness under pressure.
  • PHIA regulations understanding.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Independence and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Commitment to Harm Reduction and Housing First philosophies.
  • Flexible hours to meet program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate overnight staffing with Night Co Coordinator to ensure consistent support.
  • Oversee MSP program areas during overnight hours and guide staff in daily duties.
  • Support management with policy adherence and program compliance.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new staff.
  • Provide regular communication with staff, answer queries, and share updates.
  • Monitor work, identify issues, and suggest procedural improvements.
  • Support performance management with program managers and staff.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and provide relevant information.
  • Ensure safe work practices and SOP adherence.
  • Assist with last-minute staffing shortages and scheduling coordination.
  • Coordinate with on-call managers/directors for overnight coverage.
  • Attend transfer-of-care meetings during shift changes and lead debriefs.
  • Provide crisis prevention/intervention and post-incident support.
  • Assist with recruitment of frontline staff as needed.
  • Report monthly MIS and program-related stats accurately and timely.
