Light bulb moment : a role like this exists, and it’s right in front of you. We’re Lightworks Inc., and we want you to be our new Outside Sales Representative. Who are we? We’re an energy efficient lighting company, with strategic partnerships with seven utilities across Southwestern Ontario. In Welland, we’re partnered with Welland Hydro Electric Systems Corp. Our aim is to promote and deliver the Ontario government’s Small Business Lighting (SBL) Incentive program to small business owners, so they can take advantage of up to $2000 of no-charge energy efficient lighting, and reduce their hydro bill and carbon footprint. We want your help to do this. What you’ll be doing Working on behalf of Lightworks, and representing Welland Hydro, your goal in this position is to promote and secure free lighting installations for small business owners. You will :

  • Work off a qualified, targeted list of Welland Hydro customers to identify Welland businesses to approach
  • Branded in Welland Hydro outerwear you will knock on the doors of small businesses, and consult with owners about their lighting infrastructure
  • Introduce the SBL lighting incentive program to owners, conduct on-site lighting assessments, and use our state-of-the-art software to show them how they can reduce their energy usage by installing more energy efficient lighting
  • Educate owners about energy savings that will be realized, and available incentives
  • Confirm 4-6 new lighting installations per day Business owners are entitled to up to $2000 worth of no-charge lighting (no catch!), and your job is to show them how they can take advantage of this program. If projects exceed $2000, you’ll also outline total project costs and explain their payback period if applicable. Once they’re in (and the large majority do say yes), you’ll coordinate with our team to schedule installations, and follow up with a selected amount of customers throughout the process to ensure their satisfaction. You’ll have the opportunity to get outside, on the road, and meet with business owners face-to-face. We’ll provide you with extensive training and job shadowing, so that within one month of starting you’ll be working independently to provide knowledgeable assessments and solutions to customers. If you’re persistent, self-motivated, and love the thrill of closing a deal, then we can’t wait to meet you. Working with Lightworks Inc. This position is based in Welland (your territory), and requires you to be on the road (in your own reliable vehicle) and meeting with business owners about 80% of your time. Your travel will be local to the Welland area. The rest of your time will be spent working from home for any administrative work. This is a full-time, contract position ending in December 2020. You will work as an independent contractor, earning $60,000-$65,000 per year. Yearly bonuses are available, and based on meeting specific targets related to installations, and customer / partner satisfaction (10% of salary in year one, 20% of salary in year two). You’ll work during standard business hours, Monday to Friday, about 45-50 hours per week.   • Experience in a B2B sales role in which you managed an assigned territory
  • Experience with B2B cold calling
  • Proven track record of sales success
  • Highly computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Lighting experience or knowledge is an asset, but not required
  • Valid driver’s licence, clean driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle
