About our Client

Our client is a locally owned and operated waste haul company with over 25 years of experience, known for reliability and transparency in the lower mainland. They are seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join their team. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to gain sales experience. Salary ranges from $40,000 to $46,000 plus commissions.

Responsibilities

1. New Business Development: Promote services to potential clients through B2B outreach and encourage utilization of waste management solutions.
2. Client Assessment & Solutions: Conduct needs assessments and recommend solutions like roll-off containers, recycling programs, and disposal services.
3. Quoting & Proposals: Prepare and deliver quotes, presentations, and proposals highlighting service benefits.
4. Contract Negotiation: Secure multi-year service agreements (2-5 years) aligned with client needs.
5. Client Retention: Maintain strong relationships to ensure satisfaction and growth.
6. Sales Performance: Meet and exceed sales targets regularly.
7. Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and regulations.
8. Lead Generation: Generate new leads via networking, cold calling, and industry events.

Qualifications

1. Experience: Minimum 2 years in B2B sales.
2. Sales Skills: Proven ability to meet/exceed targets, generate leads, close contracts, prospect, negotiate, and manage accounts.
3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for presenting solutions.
4. Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills for building long-term relationships.
5. Problem Solving: Ability to assess needs and deliver compliant solutions.
6. Organizational Skills: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, capable of managing a busy pipeline.
7. Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with CRM, MS Office, and proposal tools.
8. Education: Post-secondary in Business, Environmental Studies, Sales, or related field preferred but not required.
9. Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
