A leading company in the industrial sector seeks an Outside Sales Representative who thrives on building relationships and generating new business. This role involves regular client visits, resolving issues, and maximizing sales from an established clientele. Candidates should have a background in pipes, valves, and fittings, along with a strong sales mentality and willingness to travel. A College Diploma in Sales or Marketing is preferred, and a clean driving record is essential.
This Outside Sales Representative Position Features :
Salary : $83,500 - $85,500 base salary plus commission (5k - 10k commission in the 1st year, and consistent growth
What we are looking for :
Someone who will mostly be on the road and have a “hunter” mentality
Someone who comes from the industry in pipes, valves, and fittings
In office / on the road position
Would prefer a candidate with the industrial mechanical knowledge / background, industry experience
Dealing with large projects and big bids with clients
Will have the old book of business but able to generate new business
Someone who wants to stay with the company long term – at least 10 years
This position is responsible to maximize sales from a selected group of clientele and to generate business from new and existing accounts. This position is responsible for liaison and co-ordination between the Company and its customers to ensure optimum levels of customer service.
Primary Job Duties :
Make personal visits on a regular basis to his / her group of clients to develop business, advise of special pricing and services and to generate and receive orders.
Resolve customer / client issues and / or problems; liaise with inside sales, credit department and warehouse to investigate and resolve issues; recommends improvements and corrective actions
Co-ordinate customer purchases with inside sales department; follow up as required / requested
Analyze customer base to identify further areas of opportunity and to develop new accounts
Prepare sales forecasts for the next selling year; to review sales results with Regional Manager on a monthly basis or as required / requested
Accountable for monitoring client / customer creditworthiness and reporting irregularities to credit department and Regional Manager
Responsible to participate in the Company Health and Safety Program; to undertake training as required / requested; to ensure adherence to all Health and Safety guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Secondary Job Duties :
Assist in the warehouse, order desk, enter and prepare quotation within our ERP system as required / requested
Participate in special sales functions and trade shows as required / requested
Assist with territorial planning to efficiently maximize number of sales calls
Remain current with Company products and services
To liaise with vendor representatives to develop / promote mutual interests; to attend and participate in training / instructor programs as required / requested
Participate in our training program and complete training on products on a regular basis
Prepare and generate reports as required / requested
Qualifications :
Available to travel on a daily basis, some overnight travel as required / requested
Must be able to meet all travel requirements within and outside of Canada
Must be able to meet and entertain clients as required / requests
Possess valid driver license and maintain clean driving record
Computer literate, good mathematical skills
Plan and Blueprint reading is an asset
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Must have clear criminal record
