Outside Sales Representative

Location: Remote

Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year

Overview:
As we continue to grow our business and to open new markets for our products, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to add to our sales department. Working directly under our Director of Sales, this position would require a home office with frequent travel (approximately 50% annually) throughout the Atlantic provinces, and within Canada to coordinate and streamline existing sales channels while maximizing profitability levels and marketing our branded beef. This position does not necessarily have to be based in PEI but can be based in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with all food service distributor partners in Atlantic Canada and assist as required with restaurants and distributor sales meetings.
  • Work with retail independent meat shops to build brand sales and promotions.
  • Developing marketing activities to build brand awareness with all manufacturing, retail and foodservice customers. Assist with social media posts and activities.
  • Able to build trust and relationships with all customers.
  • Conduct instore demos to sample and tell the story of Atlantic Beef Products.
  • Organize and present server training programs to end users to ensure they are well versed on the ABP story to inspire their customers.
  • Trade show organization and attendance when required.
  • Develop new and maintain existing business relationships.
  • Taking sales orders, margin management, shipping requirements, freight costs, order sizes, managing feedback from order errors and assisting with accounts receivable management for customers.
  • Working closely with our management team to ensure that company targets are reached and exceeded.
  • Assisting Sales team with projects as needed
  • Work collaboratively with Shipping, Grind and Cut department.
  • Occasional overnight travel will be required to visit stores and restaurants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years experience working in the food industry in either foodservice distribution sales or management, retail butchery or in a related sales position.
  • Good working knowledge of the beef industry and cuts is required.
  • Post secondary education in a related field.
  • Able to communicate in French/English (Bilingual) will be an asset.
  • Competent in MS Office programs.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with chefs, owners, distributor personnel, product managers, meat managers and butchers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet order deadlines.
  • Dedicated to customer service to ensure customers are looked after in the event of delivery delays or other order issues.
  • Experience with posting to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.
  • Reliable vehicle – company will reimburse for mileage and pre-approved travel expenses.
