Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education.
  • Eligible for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate.
  • Orton Gillingham Approach Associate Coursework or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, history, and traditions.
  • Experience in inquiry-based instructional pedagogy.
  • Experience in competency-based curriculum and assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with educators, Elders, and community members to design a competency-based curriculum rooted in Indigenous knowledge.
  • Foster cultural inclusion and reflect local Indigenous perspectives in the curriculum.
  • Promote equity and inclusion within the school community.
  • Engage with the community to gather input and feedback to improve programs.
  • Develop land-based education opportunities integrated into the curriculum.
