ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT & EFFECTIVENESS

NorQuesters are difference makers, and we’re looking for someone who can help people and teams navigate change with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

The Organizational Change Management Consultant reports to the Manager, Organizational Development & Change and serves as a trusted internal consultant and senior change practitioner. This role partners with sponsors, people leaders, project teams, and enabling functions to translate organizational priorities into practical, people-centered change approaches that strengthen readiness, adoption, and sustainment across the college.

This position plays a key role in advancing NorQuest 2030 by supporting implementation and continuous improvement of NorQuest’s enterprise organizational change management framework, roadmap, tools, routines, and practices. The role provides hands‑on support for complex initiatives, builds change capability, and helps the college take a consistent, capacity‑aware, and inclusive approach to change in a rapidly evolving, digital and AI‑enabled environment. Success in this role requires an individual who embodies NorQuest’s Q’s (values), including finding ways forward, being dependable, we > they, working at play & play at work, being compassionate, leading from where you are, starting small & thinking big, having honest conversations, and being boldly curious and intentionally courageous.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • Provide senior-level organizational change management consulting and hands‑on support for complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Translate enterprise change priorities into practical plans, tools, templates, routines, leader guides, readiness checks, and role‑clarity supports.
  • Develop and adapt change plans, stakeholder approaches, impact and readiness assessments, communication inputs, adoption strategies, sustainment actions, and reinforcement supports.
  • Facilitate change planning, impact assessments, readiness and risk reviews, role‑clarity conversations, implementation check‑ins, go/no‑go discussions, and lessons‑learned sessions.
  • Analyze who is affected, what is changing, dependencies, operational impacts, capacity implications, readiness gaps, and barriers to adoption; recommend mitigation, sequencing, support, or escalation actions.
  • Partner with Communications and initiative teams to strengthen stakeholder mapping, engagement, message timing, feedback loops, transparency, and local sensemaking.
  • Support people leaders in developing the adaptability and change readiness needed to guide their teams through organizational changes.
  • Coach and equip sponsors, people leaders, and change networks to explain change, respond to questions, reinforce decisions, and sustain adoption.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative information to monitor readiness, adoption, sustainment, and change effectiveness and to recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to broader Organizational Development & Effectiveness priorities, including organizational effectiveness, team development, process improvement, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Help build a consistent, practical, capacity‑aware, and people‑centred approach to change across NorQuest.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as organizational development, leadership, business, social sciences, education, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in organizational change management, organizational development, organizational effectiveness, human resources, transformation, strategy implementation, project delivery, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Change management certification such as Prosci, CCMP (ACMP), or equivalent is preferred. Additional credentials in organizational development, leadership, project management, facilitation, coaching, or evaluation are assets.
  • Experience in:
    • Supporting complex, cross‑functional change initiatives and conducting change impact, readiness, and needs assessments.
    • Developing practical change plans, tools, stakeholder approaches, engagement activities, adoption strategies, and sustainment supports.
    • Advising and coaching sponsors and people leaders, facilitating sensitive discussions, and influencing without formal authority.
    • Contributing to enterprise change practices, frameworks, tools, or roadmap implementation is preferred.
    • Supporting organizational development and effectiveness initiatives is an asset.
    • Integrating Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, Anti‑Racism, decolonization, and Indigenization principles into change practices is an asset.
    • Supporting digital transformation, AI adoption, or future‑of‑work initiatives is an asset.
    • Working in post‑secondary education, the public sector, a unionized setting, or another complex service environment is an asset.
WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER?

As a Difference Maker, you bring:
