Job summary

FYidoctors Etobicoke – East Mall is seeking an Optical Associate to bring customer service and optical knowledge to our clinic. You will greet patients, help with eyewear selections, interpret prescriptions, take measurements, and assist with fittings and repairs.

This full-time role offers 30–40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, with competitive wages and benefits. Experience in retail or optical is a plus, and you will work in a supportive team focused on patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer-facing, preferably retail environment.
• Previous optical experience is considered an asset.
• Passionate about customer service.
• Comfort with using technology and computers.
• Excellent communication and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients into the clinic and providing outstanding service.
• Educating clients on eyewear choices for lifestyle and value.
• Assisting with selecting frames to suit aesthetics and performance needs.
• Interpreting optical prescriptions from an optometrist.
• Measuring frames for correct fit and performing repairs/adjustments.
• Placing contact lens orders and assisting with fittings.
• Interacting with patients in person, by phone and by email.
• Billing patients and third-party providers.
• Managing appointments, prescription printouts and payments.
