Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting in Ontario, Canada seeks a Press Operator to lead die set-up, run priority dies, and ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced stamping environment.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating presses, and using die-change methods. Experience with forklifts and material handling is preferred. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirement stated.
• 1–3 years of related work experience preferred.
• Two years experience as a Press Operator preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Capable of operating and setting up presses using quick die change methods.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, steel crane, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead the die set-up process and follow job book.
• Run scheduled dies in order of priority for required quantities.
• Set-up die protection system, verify settings, document in job book.
• Ensure press is set-up and running with first off inspection and proper gauges.
• Operate press(es) as required and maintain safety and quality.
• Follow containment procedures and maintain a tidy, organized area.
• Load steel coils into uncoiler when required and operate BT Lift or Forklift when licensed.
• Follow all departmental procedures and work instructions and maintain equipment.
